How is it possible that summer is almost over?

OJAI: Nestled in the Southern California hillside, Ojai is laid-back, charming and very hip and just under 2 hours from Downtown Los Angeles. Start your day by grabbing a breakfast sandwich at Knead Baking Company and renting bikes to explore the town. The main street is quaint with many eclectic boutiques and antique shops. If you prefer hiking, just north of the town is the Los Padres National Forest, featuring many gorgeous hiking trail and swimming holes. A must for book lovers, Bart’s Books is an outdoor bookstore located in an actual house without a roof. Wildfires devastated the Ojai community back in 2017, so your day trip is sure to help rebuild the local economy.

LAGUNA BEACH: About an hour-ish from Downtown Los Angeles, Laguna Beach manages to combine first-class shopping and restaurants with an easygoing attitude and a breathtaking coastline. Check out Main Beach for downtown sunbathing or head over to Crystal Cove for hiking and tidepools. Downtown Laguna is home to many gorgeous boutiques and delicious restaurants. If the kids need a sweet treat, head over to Gelato Paradiso for some delicious artisanal gelato and sorbetto.  If you visit Laguna in the summertime, you can experience two iconic art festivals: Pageant of the Masters is a live stage interpretation of classical paintings, and the Sawdust Art Festival is an outdoor art festival with live music, hands-on demonstrations and craft beer.

OAK GLEN: Called the heart of apple country, Oak Glen is a picturesque town about 1.5 hours from Downtown Los Angeles. The best time to visit is fall, when the leaves begin to change colors and apple picking is in full effect. Snow-Line Orchard offers apple picking, a wine and cider tasting room and mini-cider donuts. Riley’s Farm is a working apple orchard and living history farm, complete with butter churning, blacksmithing, dipped candles and tomahawk throwing! For some old-fashion fun check out Los Rios Rancho and take a tractor ride around the farm and press your own cider with an antique cider press.
